Program Description

OLR is pleased to present ‘ The Way of Life’ – an amazing show featuring the tafseer of the Holy Quran. Ustadha Maha Hamoui draws on 35 years of enriched experience and has a unique style of analyzing, and explaining the meanings of the verses, whilst at the same time blends a diverse knowledge base of seerah, Islamic sciences and life experience. The series commences with the analysis of the beginning of Surah al Isra, as the night of Isra wal Miraj falls on Tuesday, 28th June. Ustadha Maha is joined twice a week by two of her students, Salma Kweider and Yasmin Bhuj, who accompany her as we hope the listeners will and serve as a sounding board as well demonstrate the reaction and effect of the verses as one encounters them.

Ustadha Maha Hamoui

Born in the middle east, of Syrian descent, Ustadha  Maha Hammoui began her spiritual journey in this World in 1955. Raised in a morally conscious Islamic family, she was born into an environment that nurtured and preserved a sense of moral goodness – right and wrong. She was the fifth child of a seven sibling family and was raised with a sense of respect, freedom- which was ahead of its time, with full respect for the genders and she was encouraged to excel in all aspects of life.She has taught at university level and numerous Islamic sciences from seerah, tafseer, tajweed, history and fiqh. But her defining element is her ability to take the written word and embed it in the memory and impression it in the heart of the listener, to where they transform, by the will of Allah SWT, reflection  into action – in a subconscious spiritual process. She founded the Islamic Outreach Foundation in 2000, to communicate the message to Muslims and non-Muslims, alike and has supervised and continues to be consulted in the management and curriculum of Weekend Islamic Programs/ Schools.Many of her students have gone on to perpetuate the cycle of study and Islamic academia. Numerous students are working in prominent academic and social positions within wider society today - each of their voices  reaches out to spread dawah. Really akin to one planting the seeds, to enable the sprouting of spiritual trees with the branches of knowledge, reaching out and providing benefit to society. Ustadha Maha continues to give Islamic instruction based in Southern California and tackles the specialist, challenging arena of teen instruction.  She has just launched her new show with One Legacy Radio, “The Way of Life”, which we hope and endeavour will project her knowledge to the benefit of the Ummah at large, inshallah.

    Subhanallah, The first word revealed to Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him from the Quran was RAED, and if that indicates anything it shows that; the God Almighty requires us to learn. And the fact is, when you learn you can realize how great the God is in everything create, and believe me when i say in that moment you will rise to the place of slavery to God and this is the real purpose of our creation... {وَمَا خَلَقْتُ الْجِنَّ وَالْإِنسَ إِلَّا لِيَعْبُدُونِ}
    and the fact I'd say this thing because when I read the words of God Almighty
    {وَفِي السَّمَاءِ رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ فَوَرَبِّ السَّمَاءِ وَاْلأَرْضِ إِنَّهُ لَحَقٌّ مِثْلَ مَا أَنَّكُمْ تَنطِقُونَ}
    I kept thinking about this verse and i found that...if you just thought a little bit you will found that the God Almighty does not need to Swear to us in the first place and even after he swear by himself that he is the lord of heaven and earth, which it's creation greatest than the human creation, once again he say it was right as you pronounce. WHY PRONOUNCING..?
    I was ignorant to the speech process like many of you until I LEARNED during my studies of Medicine particularly the surgery it's a very amazing complicated process, The same cavity, same muscles, same nerve supply, same blood vessels suppliers, But different languages and even more than this...Subhanallah and i had not realized that until i followed only the first word came in the Quran (RAED) so What do think could happens if we be apple to understand the rest of the Quran words...it's exciting isn't..?
